Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Young Democrats of Wisconsin. As a member, you'll be able to shape the future direction of our party, have a vote at our annual convention and play an active role in bringing real change to our state!
Membership is split between two categories. Active and Affiliate. Active Members have voting rights. Affiliate members are non voting but may still attend meetings.
Standard Active Membership is $20 / year. This is the membership price per person. (Under 40)
Reduced Active Membership for Students, Veterans, or Low-Income is $10 / year. This is the membership price per student or individual with limited income. (Under 40)

How do I become a Member?
Membership is open to any individual between the ages of fourteen (14) and forty (40), inclusive, who resides in Wisconsin or is registered to vote in Wisconsin, subscribes to the principles of the Democratic Party, and agrees to abide by the Constitution, Bylaws, Policies, and Code of Conduct of the Young Democrats of Wisconsin.

Difference between paid and non-paid members?
Non-paid membership is the most flexible membership. It allows members to join and participate in their local chapters, attending YDW events and more!
Paid members are voting members at the state convention who are eligible to be delegate, run, and serve as statewide officers. Paid members also get into all YDW ticketed events for free and get mailed a membership card.
What are the membership levels?
Active - $20 - Voting
Reduced - $10 - Voting
Affiliate - Free - Non-Voting
How do I join my chapter?
Membership in Young Democrats automatically enrolls you in the membership of your local chapter.

Is the payment processer secure?
Yes, the payment processer is Stripe, the same as Actblue. We are opting to use another front end system that better tracks membership.
How can I check membership status?
You are able to check you membership status by either emailing info@youngdemswi.org or filling out our membership status checker.
Why do you collect date of birth?
We collect date of birth because it allows us to verify your membership and it is a national requirement of Young Democrats of America. It is also important because Young Democrats of Wisconsin goes up to age 40 while Young Democrats of America only goes up to 36.
